Rates & Insurance

Brief initial telephone and email consultation are free of charge. Standard private payment per-session fees range $210.  Other services are available at different fees.

Reduced fees: Approximately 20% of my practice is dedicated to work with couples, individuals and families who aren’t able to afford the full cost of therapy. Fee reductions are on a means and circumstances based scale. Because I limit reduced fee services to 20% of my practice there is usually a waiting list for these services.

Clinical Supervision, EFT Supervision and Consultation Services: If you are an intern seeking clinical supervision, or a therapist learning EFT and seeking consultation please contact me directly via phone or email to discuss formats and fees.

Please note: Payment is due at the time of service unless other arrangements have been made. Cash, check and online payment services Venmo or Zelle are accepted.  Credit cards are kept on file for outstanding balances due to insurance deductible or late cancelled appointments, but not as a primary payment method.

Insurance

I am a plan provider for a limited number of insurance providers including Hometown Health Plan and Anthem.  Please note that some providers do not cover couple/family therapy.

Insurance plans usually have different reimbursement rates for “in-network” and “out-of-network” providers. In-network providers can usually bill the plan directly. If I am not an in-network provider I will prepare a record of services (also known as a “superbill”) for you. You can submit the superbill for reimbursement. Your plan administrator (usually reached by calling the number on the back of your insurance card) can give you detailed information regarding your mental healthcare reimbursement policies.

Services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. To make sure you understand your financial responsibility for treatment, please verify reimbursement specifics including deductible amounts, number of sessions allowed and pre-authorizations processes. Here are some helpful questions you might ask your carrier:

  • Do I have mental health insurance benefits?
  • Is counseling for relationship / marriage problems covered?
  • What is my deductible and has it been met?
  • How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
  • What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
  • Is approval required from my primary care physician?
  • Payment

Cash, check, debit and major credit cards (processing fee applies) are accepted for in-office payment. Payment is due at the time of service unless other arrangements have been made.

Firm Cancellation Policy

A minimum 48-hour advance notice is required to cancel a scheduled session for any reason. This is because I am reserving my scheduled clinical time specifically for you and have a limited number of spots available each week. Without at least 48-hour cancellation notice I am unable to offer this time to anyone else and payment will be required for the full cost of the missed session. Thank you in advance for understanding.
